'Els Chamber' Business Cards

Yesterday I arrived home to find my brand new 'Els Chamber' business cards had arrived in the post. The design is by the lovely and very talented Sabrina Kelly artist and the template and printing came from the website Zazzle. I'm delighted with the end result and I'm so looking forward to start giving them out to all of you!

Summer Wedding

Looking for the perfect dress to wear at a summer wedding? Look no further as this Spanish brand, Almatrichi, have summer wedding bells calling your name. All the dresses above are from the Almatrichi Spring/Summer 2013 range. I first came upon this fabulous make in the boutique I work in, Olivia Boutique. We stock a small selection from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection and I have to say the dresses are even more gorgeous in person. The materials are exquisite and so are the designs. A bit pricey but 100% worth it for that special occasion plus Almatrichi is a dress for life! It's time to treat yourself <3

Vintage gowns from Lucy In Disguise, London.

The weather may be desperate and there isn't much I can do to help out with mother nature but I can most definitely help all you prom girls find the perfect vintage gown needed for the ball. I've been researching for a couple of days now and I have chosen my top gorgeous vintage dresses and where you can find each one to buy just for my readers. Personally I believe that when looking for a vintage dress it's best to think outside of the box and not to look in your usual clothing websites or stores. Vintage shops from all around the world most likely have a Facebook page and that's a great way to start. What I usually do is research the best vintage shops in an area, for example, London, New York, Dublin, etc, and from there I find a list of let's say the 10 best vintage shops in ... and I will then find each shop on Facebook. More than likely their Facebook page is updated quite regularly with photos of their stock. I have found that most Facebook pages for vintage boutiques offer a phone number or email address. If you have seen something you can't imagine living without you could try order over the phone or get an invoice emailed to you and pay through paypal. I've done it plenty of times! It's quick and easy. Another website I have found which is great for vintage hunting is Etsy. Etsy is the "world's most vibrant handmade marketplace". The site offers its users a chance to buy and sell handmade or vintage items, art and supplies. It has hundreds of pages of vintage dresses that are definitely prom potential. Vintage shopping is the best shopping because you never know what you are going to find. For me I feel like a kid in a candy store or going downstairs on Christmas Day and the excitement of what's beneath all that wrapping paper.
If anyone needs anymore help or ideas feel free to contact me by emailing me at elschamberblog@gmail.com or mailing me on the Els Chamber facebook page.

Remember to think outside of the box. Don't think it's only prom or it's only that occasion, it's not, it's that once chance for you to wear that one dress that stands out from everyone else. Take it!

Be different!

London Trip - Making Contacts

As you may have already read on the Els Chamber Facebook page I recently took a brief trip to London. It started at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning. I spent Saturday and Sunday visiting relatives in Cambridge that I haven’t seen in years. It was so lovely to catch up with family. They very kindly took me to MAC shop on Saturday afternoon where I had the chance of stocking up my make-up bag. Lately I've been using Yves Saint Laurent perfect touch radiant brush foundation but I ran out before my trip and decided to try out MAC. The woman in MAC helped me match a suitable foundation for me and I left MAC having bought the Studio Fix NW15 foundation. I have to admit I do prefer Yves Saint Laurent. In my opinion the foundation I used from YSL looks more natural on my face.

I must also mention that whilst I was in the MAC shop I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted Ellie Goulding and her boyfriend Jeremy Irvine from the film the War Horse standing behind me in the queue. Only a few hours into my trip and the celeb spotting was well on its way!

Now for the big day! I took a train to London on Monday morning with my mum. We got off the train at Liverpool St. and we walked to meet stylist Lauren Grant. I arrived at her studio and have to say she was beyond welcoming and lovely. We had a great chat and I was so happy when she mentioned a possible internship in the future. We also talked about how I could go over for a week in the summer and experience a shoot with her. The future looks exciting! I believe it is important to make contacts in this business and this is a huge start for me. After my visit with Lauren I ventured to Brick Lane (a very dangerous idea as of course Ella spends too much of her money) to see my trust fave vintage boutiques. As always I managed to add a few more bits to my wardrobe.

On Monday evening I had the amazing privilege of going to the Let It Be Beatles show in the Savoy Theatre at the West End. It was my first time going to the West End and it was such a fantastic experience. The show had the whole audience on our feet. It was incredible!

I'm sure I've missed out details from my trip but I hope I've given you the best bits. If more comes to mind I will keep you all posted.

Follow your dreams and stay fashionable!

Business Cards

I've been working hard with artist Sabrina Kelly to come up with a design for my Els Chamber business cards and I'm extremely happy with the results. Sabrina did an extraordinary job for me. She came up with the idea of Twiggy's eye which signifies by own watchful eye over the fashion world. My own picture and information can be found on the back of each card. I honestly could not be happier with the outcome and I would like to say a huge thank you to Sabrina for all her help. We have also been working together on an exciting project which will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned..

Vogue Feature

Today I discovered myself on the British VOGUE website for the street chic section of March 2013. I was absolutely thrilled when I saw my picture whilst scrolling down through the months of street chic. I didn't even know I was on the website until one of my lovely followers wrote to me and suggested I sent in my photo. It was such a fab surprise to already see myself VOGUEing it! You can check it out by clicking into this: http://www.vogue.co.uk/spy/street-chic/2013/you-are-all-wearing-march/gallery/954120

I hope everyone is having a lovely evening!

Which Celebs Rocked The Punk Look At The Met Ball 2013 - BEST AND WORST DRESSED!

BEST:This one is a matter of opinion. Personally I love Nicole's look. I'll admit at first I wasn't sure about what looks like spray paint hair but I've grown to love it. After all it fits the theme. Plus she looks stunning in this Topshop (yes Topshop!) gown. Bravo!

BEST: Cara rocks this studded black gown. Three words: Dressed to kill!

BEST: Trust Kristen to pull off the Punk face! Her super sleek, slicked back hair do is punk perfection. Plus I LOVE that jumpsuit!

WORST: Bey I love you but I'm sorry what were you thinking! It looks as if Nan might want her carpet back! And those boots.... SERIOUSLY! I won't even go there about the matching giant gloves.

WORST: Madonna you just look bizarre. For starters you're 54 and I would say your children just died of embarrassment.

WORST: Ah Kimmy that's a lovely curtain you have on. Too bad it belongs in the same house Beyonce found her carpet.

WORST: Katy the Queen called, she wants her crown back!

WORST: Jessica Biel I'm worried. It just goes on a downward spiral from the top down.

WORST: Someone call the fashion police OR the men in white coats.

Recently one of my best friends, Karen, who is living the college life in Dublin contacted me and told me that Bershka are doing these fab clutch bags and I knew instantly it had to be mine. This girl knows me too well, I swear we are meant to be sisters! I didn't realise I could love a bag so much until this one. It's perfect <3

Exciting News!

You may have already read on my Facebook page that I will be going back to London next week except this time I am doing something extremely exciting. Not so long ago I contacted London based stylist, Lauren Grant, and I'm so thrilled she is giving me the opportunity to meet her and spend some time in her studio. Lauren has worked with Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding, Christina Perri, Cheryl Cole, Nicholas Holt, Ashley Smith, Jess Mills, British Vogue and many more so this is truly a once in a life time opportunity and I'm so excited to meet her. I'm a great believer that a person has to work to make their dreams come true and it makes me so happy to see mine unfolding. If you want something to happen you must make it happen! Stay tuned to hear all about my trip.

Photo Diary: Tour Of The West!

Yesterday I had such a wonderful day touring the west of Donegal. We visited the best town to live in Ireland as voted for in 2012 in the Irish Times, Ardara. The village is full of friendly and welcoming people. We dined in an award winning cafe and shopped in all the gorgeous Donegal Tweed boutiques including Eddie Doherty's. I even had the privilege of watching how the tweed is woven. The west of Donegal is rich in Irish culture. One day I hope to own my own tweed suit.
