Spring/Summer 2013 Is Bursting With Trends

Is anyone else extrememly excited about Summer? I know I am and it is not because I'm planning on soaking up the sun in a tropical country. No, all my excitment is leaning towards the stripes and checks, the floral patterns, the frills, the tailoring, the shine and sheer not of the glistening sun but of the fashion about to hit us with one big bang of colours.

Your Winner Is....

I hope you all had a fab weekend! I spent mine planning this weeks outfit post which will be posted as soon as the weather calms down so keep your eyes open for some glitz and glam. But first lets get to who you have voted as the Look Of The Week.

This weeks Look Of The Week goes to Rihanna!

As promised, I have found a similar look for you guys from our high street and online stores. Here is what I have come up with:

The Runners:

Looking for the pair exactly like Rihanna, well I have found them.

Reebok-kamikaze-ii-mid-red-black for $118.00. A total of around €88.00. A link to purchase: http://osneaker.com/reebok-kamikaze-ii-2-mid-red-black.html

ALSO!

The Nike 'Dunk Sky Hi'Wedge trainers in black/red are a perfect choice to make this look your own.

Selling for €103.00 on the Nike Ireland online store. Here is a link to anyone that is interested:

The Leggings

Well black leggings can be purchased in basically any high street store but in this weather I think black skinny jeans is the way to go.Black skinny jeans can be found almost anywhere at the mo so make sure you check Penny's/Primark before making any hasty purchases. Below are a pair of MOTO Supersoft Skinny Leigh Jeans from Topshop selling at £38.00. This is should work out around €45.00.

The Top

You will all be happy to know I have found the EXACT same Tshirt Rihanna is wearing in this outfit.

This Tee made by GOLD is coming soon for $110.00. Total of around €81.00. Here is a link:

I have also come up with my own ideas.
This Vera Moda Silver Foil Tshirt has a similar texture to the one Rihanna wore. All you need to do is bling it up with some gold jewellery and this could be a perfect outfit for hitting the high street.

You can purchase this Vera Moda Tshirt for €20.23.. HURRY FAST THIS ONES ON SALE!

This sweat top would look great with this outfit also:

Jewels

Below is a necklaces I found that is quite similar to Rihanna's look. A perfect way to finish this outfit by adding your own touch of edge:

Learning New Tricks Among The Trade

Lately I've been learning how to sew. I thought since I still needed to make good use out of the sewing machine I got as a present last Christmas it was time for me to take some action. I've been getting sewing lessons from a family friend and so far I've managed to learn a couple basic stitches including the running stitch. I would post a picture of my attempt of the running stitch but I'm not sure that it would explain what it actually is since I still haven't mastered the whole sewing in a straight line business yet. As they say "practice makes perfect" and in my case a lot of practice is needed. The picture to the above left is a perfect example I found on Google of the running stitch.

Yesterday my sewing skills were put to the test when I decided to do some DIY on a shirt that I got in River Island in the men's sale for €14.00.

I used some old vintage buttons and sewed them onto the collar of the shirt. And to be honest it was pretty simple but time consuming. I did buy clothing glue incase even sewing a button was too much for me but I'm happy to say not a drop of glue was used.

Today I plan on replacing the buttons that are already on the shirt for the black diamond dices that are in the pics above.

So there you have it a fun way to make something simple like a shirt (old or new) into your own! Next time your about to throw away a piece of clothing from your closet why not think twice about it and look up some simple steps on how to sew a button.
Here is one website I found useful: http://www.creativesewingtips.com/sewing-buttons-by-hand-2.html

Sometimes all we need is some inspiration!

Until Next Time, E x   PS: Els Tip - Remember to ask family members or friends if they happen to have any old buttons before going out and buying a bag full as this can be quite expensive

My First Buying Trip!

I'm going to use this blog post to tell you all about my exciting trip to Dublin last week.Last Thursday I went on my first buying trip to Dublin with my lovely boss, Olivia. We met with a representative for some Spanish clothing lines, including my favourite Spanish store Kling. We spent a few hours selecting a variety of items for the shop. I will be honest I wanted everything.

Olivia and I on our trip, I'm wearing a coat by Kling, to the right.

We spent the rest of our day enjoying fabulous food and of course updating our closets. We even managed to get around some of the Vintage Shops. My favourite being Siopaella. It is definitely a must stop off point if ever shopping in Dublin. From the minute I walked in I was inspired and I won't lie I could have spent hours hunting in there but unfortunately time was against me.

Here is some pics of what I purchased on our trip...

Knitted Cardigan- Siopaella

Blazer - Siopaella

Bow Tie - Kling

Green Dress - Kling

Trousers - Zara

Tights - FOREVER 21

Necklace - FOREVER 21

I look forward to my next buying trip and we have even talked the possibility of it being in New York....

TIME WILL TELL!

Until Next Time, E x
